Moe Berg was as famous for his spying career as he was for baseball.
Moe Berg Wood Sign

Moe Berg enjoyed a reputation as the most shadowy player in the history of baseball. He spoke Japanese and took movies in Tokyo that were used in the planning of 1942 bombing raids on the Japanese capitol.
In his 15 major league seasons, Berg was a liftime .243 hitter (having played only 662 games). He started out as an infielder before the White Sox in '27 moved him to catcher, where he found his niche as a sustitute backstop until retirement in 1939.
